Privacy Policy

Last Modified: August 16, 2016

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is intended to be effective immediately and it pertains to the users of the Relovate Service, as described in our Terms of Service and/or anyone who visits the website (www.relovate.com) (our “Website”). It undertakes to communicate to our users and to our data partners and other service providers a comprehensive understanding of our view of Privacy and its related implications. It focuses on how we collect, utilize, disclose, and in some cases manage information about our users in connection with the Relovate Service. The terms "we", "us", and “Relovate” refer to Relovate, Inc., a Delaware corporation. When you use the Relovate Service, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.

Relovate is a private application accessed via our website, www.relovate.com. It is advertising free. We have organized our acquisition of data providers in such a way as to protect your privacy when you are utilizing the Relovate Service. Toward that end, use of the application and the Relovate Service is restricted to those individuals and or businesses, who agree to our Terms of Service and register with Relovate. When you create an account and use this service, you are, in effect, agreeing with our Privacy Policy.

Our Approach

When you use Relovate you are providing information about you, by you, and for you. We have purposefully engineered the application to provide a wide range of travel related content and information and we expect to continuously build on this. We have done this because our strategy is to make planning the entire trip, and booking the elements – hotels, car rentals, flights, and so forth – easy for you. In doing so, we hope to save you time and reduce or perhaps even eliminate your need to visit multiple other travel sites, rely on search engines, or go directly to providers. In general, there are two ways we will learn about you; what the application learns from your search, retrieval, and booking actions, and what the application learns by asking you specific questions, such as gender, birthdate, address, and so on.

Both collection forms are in place because we want to learn about you, and then apply that learning back to you on your behalf, for your next trip plan, so that it is more personal, more relevant and more expedient for you. Over time, it should work in the same way an excellent assistant supports your needs and preferences. For example, if you continuously search for hotels rated 3 stars or better, then we want to prioritize hotels, which meet that preference. If you consistently travel to the same address, we’ll remember that address to save you time later when you need to find services around that address.

As a result of this approach, as well as each time you build a trip with Relovate, you are rewarding yourself, because the application is getting smarter about what you search for and book, or whom you travel with or the destinations you have interest in.

Our Intent

We intend to collect and store some information about you, your use of the Relovate Service and how that use is expressed across devices. This means we will collect information such as your IP address (aka, your internet protocol address), information your device provides relative to the use of the Service, your browser type (Chrome or Safari, for example), the specific type of device (desktop/laptop, tablet, smartphone), browser language, your mobile carrier, your phone number, your unique device identifier, and also your location, which means geo-location, beacon based location, and GPS location, and also any requested and referring URLs.

Some of this information is disallowable through your device or through browser settings, but we hope you will allow us to access it because we are using the information primarily to improve your user experience and NOT to sell advertising or to sell you to someone else.

We will use this information for many, many purposes, like refining our application, negotiating better rates from providers for our Relovate Service users, and providing better insights to our providers about how their services are being shopped and booked. There are a wide variety of technology and business situations that we will use the information for, such as disaster recovery, security purposes, dispute resolution, to meet required legal obligations, and other basic needs such as routine communications with you.

Information Provided During Your Transactions

When you complete a transaction with Relovate, such as booking a hotel room, Relovate collects, saves and stores information such as names, email addresses, physical addresses, and telephone numbers. We do this so that we can facilitate the transaction you have selected and improve your next transaction. We do not store credit card information. We do not share your information with others for purposes of those providers directly marketing back to you, unless you provide your permission to do so or unless you were introduced to Relovate by a partner site we work with and it is a part of that agreement.

Information Provided During Your Engagement

There are many opportunities within our application for users to provide comments, qualitative information, and other forms of feedback. This information helps Relovate learn about your experience, but it will not be disclosed publicly or to the Relovate User Community without your permission.

Information Provided During Your Communications

If you choose to utilize certain features built into our application, including the ability to share and collaborate your trip plan with friends, family or colleagues, or to engage providers using our electronic contacts then you will need to allow Relovate to send you messages, which could include text or SMS messages, and/or emails. We may track responses and data these changes generate, and we may need to store these to ensure their delivery and receipt. As indicated in our Terms of Service, we reserve the right to NOT send messages that contain content we find objectionable or are mean or nasty or rude or lewd and so on. Also, you may be charged by your cell phone carrier service for the receipt and distributions of messages, which take place using your mobile phone; please check with your cell phone service provider for any applicable terms and conditions.

Personally Identifiable Information

This is information that allows and/or enables Relovate to directly identify you and will include such things as first and last name, address, email address, telephone number, or a photograph. We will collect this information at initial registration or at different moments when it is appropriate (confirming a flight, for example). Some of this information will help us pre-populate fields in the booking and confirmation fields of travel elements, which will save you time. Some of this information may be used to help us contact you if we ever have a need to reach you directly, for example, to alert you to a fare change or to thank you for using our service. This information will not be shared with the public. We may share this information with 3rd parties related to your intent to make a reservation or a purchase, as necessary.

Third Parties

If you connect to Relovate using credentials from a Third-Party Application (as defined in the Terms of Service) (e.g. Facebook, Google), you authorize us to collect your authentication information, such as your username and encrypted login information. We may also collect other information available on or through your Account with third-party application, including, for example, email address, public profile, and a list of your friends that are also currently using Relovate.
